Clark University Sinfonia in Concert Fall Semester 2015 Performance 11/20/15

The Clark University Sinfonia is lead by Peter Sulski.  This is a university group of performers but myself and one other participant are 9th graders.  We are very lucky and honored to be able to participate in such a fantastic and talented group. This is my second year performing with the Cark Sinfonia, this year I was moved up to a violin 1 part!  So exciting to actually be able to play the melody!  The Fall Semester performance was held at Razzo Hall in the Traina Center for the Arts on the Clark University Campus.  Some students from Worcester State College and Assumption college also joined in on the performance in addition to another college music teacher, Ariana from Neighborhood Strings, and a couple of professional musicians from the Boston area that have their own music school.  What a great night of free community music.  I don’t think there was an empty seat in the hall, full house!  It was a short but super exciting and fun concert!  I love playing in the smaller groups and I love how we stand when we play.

Here are some of my favorite pieces that we performed!

The Blarney Pilgrim – The Kesh Jig a Traditional Irish Jig

A Haydn Suite arranged by Chris Allen

Danny Boy a Traditional Irish tune

Flexible Bach Ensemble – A 4 Part Fugue in E Flat Major from The Well-Tempered Clavier Book 2. This piece was composed by Johann Sebastian Bach and arranged by Mark Goddard

Halloween Spookestra WSYO 10/31/2015

This was my first concert of my Freshman year with the Worcester Youth Symphony Orchestra.  We performed at the Wesley United Methodist Church in Worcester.  It was on Halloween so we were all able to dress up in costumes.  I went as a bat and my wings moved as I played.  I also painted small bats on my face, the costumes were so much fun. I hope you enjoy the music as much as I enjoyed playing it.  Here are a few of my favorite pieces we played.

These first pieces were performed by only the Worcester Symphony Orchestra and conducted by Jonathan Brennand.

Ritt der Walkuren from Die Walkure composed by Richard Wagner

Night on Bald Mountain Composed by Modest Mussorgsky

Suite from The Star Wars Epic – Part 1 Composed John Williams and Arranged by Robert Smith

Suite from The Star Wars Epic – Part II composed by John Williams and Arranged by Robert Smith

The following two songs the Worcester Youth Symphony Orchestra was joined with Worcester Philharmonic Orchestra. The group was conducted by Jack Corbett.

Allegretto from Symphony No.7 composed by Ludwig von Beethoven

Peer Gynt Suite I. Morning Mood II. In the Hall of the Mountain King composed by Edvard Grieg and Arrange by Meyer

Unfortunately, The Worcester Youth Symphony Orchestra also performed The Symphonic Suite from The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring but my mom’s camera ran out of memory in the middle of the song. I am hoping we perform it again so she can record it properly. It was my favorite and we sounded amazing.

Overall it was a great concert.
