WCMS camp over

Camp ended Friday and I was so sad. My concert Friday was amazing. All of my groups rocked it. All of my hard work and determination paid off. The Brandenburg concerto is a hard piece to play and others were struggling so I am proud of myself because I got my new part that Monday. My Mozart quartet was awesome. We stayed in time and I never sped up or slowed down. So all in all the concert was a success.

I can’t wait for my next camp now. My next camp is an intensive practice camp at Worcester Acedemy of Music. At that camp like the title we practice intensely a piece then have a performance for our families to enjoy. At that camp we don’t only perform a solo piece we do a chamber piece too (duet, trio, or quartet)

Today before I practiced violin I went to my school gym to train. Next year I am doing cross country so I need to train during the Summer. Today my class and I worked on our core and arm strength. It is definitely going to help me in many ways. It is going to help me sustain a steady pace running and my posture for violin.

Today I practiced hard. I went through my books with the metronome to stay in time and I also used my bow straight I bought a long time ago.  A bow straight is supposed to train you to have you bow not to go on the fingerboard and to stay right between the bridge and the fingerboard. My 3-octave scales are definitely improving. I am finally getting most of the right notes and they are sounding like a scale. I also worked on my central district piece which is Csárdás composed by Vittorio Monti. It is a hard piece because it is played high up on the g string for the whole beginning section. This song is definitely stretching me beyond my limits but if I stay in my comfort zone I will never be the new Paganini, the pinkpaganini.
