WCMS Summer Camp

Summer camp is so fun. I love it. All of my coaches are great. My songs are sounding really good. Monday was our first day of session 1. Tuesday we went candlepin bowling for a field trip. It was so fun. Wednesday my songs were coming along so well. I couldn’t wait to perform them. My favorite piece I was going to perform was …and stars will appear by Roger Zahab. That is a quartet I’m performing. (For more information on Roger Zahab go to www.rogerzahab.net also on his website you can go to calendar and find July 10 and it will say that my group that performed …and stars will appear at Razo Hall.) I love that piece so much. It is a more modern style piece. The other piece I performed was a Corelli concerto. That piece is longer and is a larger group. We are also doing African drumming with Croccodile River music. It is a really fun way to work on rhythm. There are three types of drums we are using the djun djun, the djembe, and the caxixi we also are singing an African song. Wednesday we had a surprise frozen yogurt from woo berry. It was so good. Thursday we perfected all of our pieces for our concert on Friday.  Friday was our concert. We all sounded amazing. I felt like I performed 100%. Friday we had shorter periods to run through our pieces then we had dress rehearsals with our groups at Razzo then the concert at 3:00. Everyone sounded great at the concert. I couldn’t even believe how much progress we all have made in just five days.

I will be posting the video of …and stars will appear later.

Until next time… Angelina
